Weather Update for Fayetteville State University

Due to the potential landfall for Hurricane Florence, the following weather-related information is being issued for Fayetteville State University:

The University will operate under Condition 2: Suspended Operations, beginning at noon on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, and continuing until midnight on Sunday, September 16, 2018.  The University will be open on a very limited basis with only mandatory operations functioning. Non-mandatory employees must not report to work.

All classes will be cancelled beginning at noon on Wednesday and there will be no classes on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

It is important to note that under Condition 2, university employees are required to account for their time by using compensatory time, annual and/or bonus leave or leave without pay.  Please consult the university’s Adverse Weather and Emergency Events policy for further information on the conditions.

Employees who are not in their offices or work spaces should remember to power off their PCs before they leave.

Residential Students: Residence halls will close on Wednesday, September 12th, at 4 pm. Residential students who elect to remain on campus will be consolidated into one shelter. The designated shelter for residential students will be the Rudolph Jones Student Center.  The shelter will be opened from September 12-16, 2018.  The Office or Residential Life will notify residential students regarding other shelter details.
