Fayetteville State University rally draws awareness to victims of sex assault, violence

Organizers of a “Take Back the Night” rally Friday at Fayetteville State University are hopeful that the event will draw attention to sexual assault and domestic violence.

About 75 people turned out for the rally that began in front of Harris Hall, a girls’ dormitory, and worked its way across the campus, making stops to hear from speakers.

Among them were Fayetteville police Chief Gina Hawkins and Cumberland County Chief District Court Judge Robert Stiehl.
