Sweet Tea Shakespeare presents Cymbeline on the Summer Mainstage

Sweet Tea Shakespeare invites local community members to a tale of court intrigue, mistaken identity, and a long-distance love story with a performance of Cymbeline, running on select weekends in July at the 1897 Poe House.

Also known as Shakespeare’s fairy tale, Cymbeline is directed by founding company member Ruth Nelson. In addition to her work with Sweet Tea, Ruth also teaches drama at The Capitol Encore Academy in downtown Fayetteville.

Music director Jacob French leads the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, or WoCo’s, in a live music pre-show that includes original music written and performed by company members.

Cymbeline concludes the fifth anniversary season of Sweet Tea Shakespeare bringing great classic theater to Fayetteville and the surrounding communities. Sweet Tea Shakespeare imagines, enacts, and embraces theater in the spirit of Shakespeare and early modern performance.
