Fayetteville State University’s (FSU) Office of College Access & Success Programs is seeking to fill AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Summer Associate positions. The positions to be filled are program assistant/mentor positions and are sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associates will support the Career & College Readiness Summer Institute and engage with middle and high school students to decrease summer learning loss and support middle/high school students with career and college readiness. College males and females willing to function as positive role models to disadvantaged youth can fill the VISTA positions.
AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associates will commit to serve full-time for 8 weeks from May 29, 2017 until July 24, 2017. In return for their service, VISTA members will receive a modest monthly living allowance in the amount of $972 and health benefits during their summer service. Upon successful completion of service at the end of the summer, VISTA members can earn an education award in the amount of $1,212.
