The Center for Defense and Homeland Security to Present 1st Annual National Security Alumni Symposium

Fayetteville State University (FSU) is aggressively working to maximize the reach and application of its Center for Defense and Homeland Security (CDHS).  The CDHS is an entrepreneurial initiative, elevating FSU’s contributions and prominence in academia while significantly enhancing industry standards.  It is FSU’s vision that the CDHS becomes a certified DOD-DHS Center of Excellence, specializing in innovative strategies to prepare the next generation of National Security Workforce.

To achieve this end, the first CDHS National Security Alumni Symposium is scheduled for Monday, April 2, 2012 on the FSU campus. The goal of the symposium is to draft a strategic CDHS capabilities enhancement roadmap, while forging a synergistic approach among FSU professionals and other key stakeholders in order to achieve and ultimately exceed our CDHS’s envisioned capability.

An interdisciplinary cadre of FSU scholars, affiliated universities, renowned national labs, and industry partners are at the core of the CDHS’ planning and development activities.  These talented multi-discipline subject matter experts (SMEs) have collaboratively established the CDHS’ baseline capabilities.  FSU believes furthering the Center’s capabilities lies in tapping into the vast intellectual capital and proven experience of key FSU alumni.
